RPE-to-percentage charts are estimates based on population averages. Individual perception of effort and actual capacity vary, especially as lifters gain RPE experience.
RPE 8 = 2 RIR, RPE 9 = 1 RIR, RPE 10 = 0 RIR (failure). Some programs use RIR directly instead of the 1-10 RPE scale — know which system you're using.
