Real-World Applications
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Shopify charges BOTH a credit card processing fee AND a transaction fee (unless using Shopify Payments). Using a third-party processor (PayPal, Stripe) triggers the transaction fee.
Calculate the break-even order volume for each plan upgrade. At high order counts, the Advanced plan's lower fees more than offset its higher monthly fee.
Using Shopify Payments eliminates the additional transaction fee (2%, 1%, or 0.5%). If you're using third-party processors and have volume, this is often the biggest fee reduction available.
