Real-World Applications
Common Mistakes to Avoid
When n2 > n1, reflection from lower surface (denser medium) gets pi phase shift. This changes constructive/destructive conditions.
Visible light: 400-700 nm. Convert t from nm to m for formula: t(m) = t(nm)*1e-9.
At theta=0, cos(theta)=1, so OPD = 2nt. Calculator handles other angles automatically.
