Common Mistakes to Avoid

❌ Screen vs print resolution

Screen uses pixels (PPI). Printers use dots (DPI). They are different. Screen at 72 PPI looks fine on screen but prints poorly.

❌ More pixels is not always needed

300 DPI is the sweet spot for quality printing. Beyond 600 DPI, most inkjet printers can't reproduce the detail anyway.

Frequently Asked Questions

Minimum DPI for photos?

300 DPI for prints held in hand. 150-200 DPI for large prints viewed from distance. 75-100 DPI for large banners.

Upscaling low DPI?

AI upscaling (Topaz Photo AI, Adobe Super Resolution) can add detail. Simple resizing just adds pixels — doesn't improve quality.

Camera megapixels and print size?

12 MP (4000×3000): 10×13 at 300 DPI. 24 MP: 13×17 at 300 DPI. 50 MP: 20×26 at 300 DPI.
